Before You Get Started
If you are provided with a temporary password for your account, it is advised that you create a strong password that you will remember for your email account before you connect to Outlook. This will make the process easier for the future should you decide to connect other devices such as your Mobile phone if you already have your new password in place.
Access Webmail and Change Your Password
Access Webmail
- Enter the following into your browser search bar: https://mail.b.hostedemail.com (this is a secure link)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your temporary password
To Change Your Password
- Click Settings in the left side menu.
- Click Password in the left-hand column.
- Enter your current password.
- Enter your new password twice.
- Click Save.
Your password is now changed. To access Webmail in the future you will use your new password.
Access Repair Mode in Outlook
The following instructions are based on Outlook 2021/Outlook Microsoft 365
- Select File
- Click the Account Settings icon
- Select Account Settings
- Highlight the account you wish to change
- Click Repair in the menu above
- Click Advanced Options
- Check Let me set up my account manually
- Click Repair
Incoming Mail
Some of these settings may already be in place. Make sure they match the list below:
- Your username will remain the same
- Enter your new password
- Remember Password should be checked
- Change the Server: mail.b.hostedemail.com
- The port should be: 993
- Encryption method should be: SSL/TLS
- Require logon using Secure Password Authentication should be checked
Outgoing Mail
Some of these settings may already be in place. Make sure they match the list below:
- Click Outgoing Mail
- Change the Server: mail.b.hostedemail.com
- The port should be: 465
- Encryption method should be SSL/TLS
- Require logon using Secure Password Authentication should be UNCHECKED
- Check My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication AND Use same settings as my incoming mail server
- Click Next
