This tutorial will walk you through the configuration of email using Outlook.  For this tutorial, we are using Outlook 2019 on a PC with Windows 10. If you are using a different version, operating system, or a Mac, these instructions may differ.

Adding An Account

  1. Select File
  2. Click the Account Settings icon
  3. Select Account Settings
  4. In the Window that opens, click the New icon
  5. Enter your email address
  6. Click Advanced Options
  7. Check Let me set up my account manually
  8. Click Connect

Configuring your Mail Server

  1. Click the IMAP icon
  2. Enter Incoming Mail Server: mail.b.hostedemail.com
  3. Enter Port: 993
  4. Select Encryption Method: SSL/TLS
  5. Check Require logon using Secure Password Authentication
  6. Enter Outgoing Mail Server: mail.b.hostedemail.com
  7. Enter Port: 465
  8. Select Encryption Method: SSL/TLS
  9. Check Require logon using Secure Password Authentication
  10. Click Next

Final Steps

  1. Enter your password
  2. Click Connect

All done! Your new email is ready to use!

Outlook will send you a test email and will let you know that the account is ready for use.

Troubleshooting

If Outlook fails to connect to the account, go through the steps again and ensure you have not made any typos.

The most common error is mistyping the host name: mail.b.hostedemail.com

Remember that you must enter the same host name in both the incoming and outgoing settings.

Doublecheck the incoming and outgoing Port and make sure they are set to SSL/TLS.
